Without forgetting the exquisite agri-food products of excellence that have made Piedmont famous in the world, quality and creativity for an unforgettable experience: in a typical trattoria, in the cafes and pastry shops of the Piedmontese cities, in a mountain refuge or in one of the 46 Michelin star restaurants.

Between the past and the avant-garde, at any time of the year in Piedmont it is possible to be surprised by the architectural masterpieces of the Savoy Residences, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to immerse yourself in the authenticity of the villages and in the liveliness of the cities of art.

The villas, castles and their gardens are all to be discovered and alongside the classical heritage, the widespread wealth of contemporary art is also important, not only in the museum collections but also outdoors, in paths that combine creativity and landscape.

For twelve months in Piedmont it is possible to immerse yourself in exhibitions, museums and cultural and musical events but also in slow-paced experiences to regenerate, where you can regain contact with yourself between spirituality and history. Explore routes off the most famous routes, along the paths of the Sacred Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site or the paths of the Via Francigena, follow the Shroud paths, follow the traces of Romanesque heritage or immerse yourself in the itineraries of Jewish art the Alta Via dei Walser or the path of the Glorious Repatriation of the Waldenses. For those who prefer more active holidays in contact with nature, the Piedmontese outdoors covers the four seasons: between biking and trekking, golf, skiing, water and air sports, it is always possible to find one’s own activity at open air.

Summer in Piedmont

The energy of the Outdoors among unique panoramas. Exciting peaks or hills? Placid lakes or plains? Why do you choose only 1, they are all worth trying! In Piedmont you can find your ideal habitat among the 95 protected natural areas and 20,000 kilometers of cycle-hiking trails. Among the most exciting experiences, biking on the Vie del Sale between Piedmont and Liguria between 1800 and 2100 meters above sea level, on the spectacular white road along the Alpine watershed, crossing alpine passes, hairpin bends and daring passages along the hillside.

The quality of the environment is guaranteed by the 34 Orange Flag municipalities and that of the 2 Blue Flag beaches; the cool is guaranteed in the lakeside bays, practicing swimming, sailing, rowing and canoeing, water skiing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. On the rivers and the numerous and impetuous streams: from Val Sesia to the valleys of the Cuneo area, from Verbano to the Lanzo and Susa valleys, it is possible to discover otherwise inaccessible environments by canoe, rafting or hydrospeed; or experience an exclusive adventure, totally adrenaline, immersing yourself in the foaming waves of white water or in gorges and waterfalls practicing canyoning. In many places, waterfalls and “goje” (small pools of water) on the streams represent an irresistible attraction in the hottest months of the year. Concerts and shows at high altitude, sports competitions and food and wine and craft fairs complete a very rich panorama for the summer months.
