FLIGHT DOCUMENTATION

It is each passenger’s responsibility to obtain information about the identification or health documentation required to visit their destination country. This documentation may vary depending on the country of origin, destination, and dates. Therefore, it is recommended that you contact your travel agency or the immigration authorities of your destination country for the relevant information and clarifications before purchasing your ticket.

Israel Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) Requirement

Visitors from visa-exempt countries must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) to enter Israel. An approved ETA-IL allows you to travel to Israel and stay there for up to 90 days per visit. Applications can be submitted at any time prior to travel, but it is recommended to do so at least 72 hours before booking airline tickets and hotel rooms or incurring any other travel-related expenses. The ETA-IL is generally valid for multiple trips for a period of up to two years from the date of approval or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If you are a citizen of an eligible country that does not require a B/2 visa for travel to Israel, you must complete an ETA-IL form. For more information and to apply for your ETA-IL, please visit the official website of the Israel Population and Immigration Authority.

Special Requirements for Minors Under 18

Any child included in the parent’s passport must have their own visa (if required) and must travel with the adult named on the visa.

Immigration departments in some countries may require additional documentation for unaccompanied children under 18 traveling abroad. Consult the requirements and additional documentation that minors may need with the consulate or embassy of the country you plan to visit and/or through the IATA Travel Centre.

Some non-exhaustive examples of accepted documents include:

  • A valid Kinderreisepass: a travel document issued by the German government for children under 16 years of age.
  • French residents under 18 years of age who are not traveling accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must present a duly completed AST (Autorisation de sortie du territoire) and the documents specified in the AST.
  • Italian citizens under 14 years of age traveling with the new type of national identity card (Carta d’identità) accompanied by one or both parents may travel on flights within the EU and the Schengen area* without any additional documentation if the name of the parent or legal guardian is mentioned on the national identity card. Otherwise, the parent or legal guardian must carry the child’s birth certificate or family status certificate. If a minor under 14 years of age is traveling with the new model of national identity document accompanied by a person other than their parents or legal guardian, the minor must carry a Dichiarazione di accompagnamento signed by both parents or the legal guardian and stamped by the passport issuing authorities.
  • Portuguese residents under the age of 18 flying between Portugal and a non-Schengen Area member state*, and who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, will require a travel authorization. This authorization must be signed by both parents or a legal guardian. If the parents or legal guardian live in Portugal, the signature(s) must be notarized (the authorization must be signed by a person with legally certified parental responsibility, and the signatures must be authenticated). If the parents or legal guardian do not live in Portugal, the signature(s) must be authenticated by a Portuguese embassy or consulate in the country where they reside. This travel authorization is also required when minors are traveling accompanied by someone other than a parent or legal guardian. In this case, the name of the accompanying person must also be clearly stated on the travel authorization. Foreigners under 18 years of age traveling alone may be denied entry if there is no one in Portugal responsible for their stay.
  • Minors under 18 years of age residing in Spain and traveling without their parents or legal guardians must carry a travel permit form (available at their local police station or other designated Spanish authorities) duly completed by their parents or guardians. This form must be presented at passport control. In the case of foreign minors residing in Spain, their legal representatives must complete the appropriate documentation in accordance with their national legislation before the competent consular authorities.
