What do you need for check-in?
If your documents are not in order you won’t get very far.
We at Albastar advise you to check, before anything else, that all your documents and those of the people you will be travelling with are in order well in advance, to avoid unnecessary inconveniences at the time of departure.
Let’s see what you will need to check in, that is, the documents you need to present once at the airport.
On national flights
The most common document is an identity card but you can also show your driving license. The important thing is that the document is valid, is in good condition, and photos and information are clearly visible.
However, we at Albastar recommend you always have your identity card with you, which can be requested even in other circumstances.
On international flights
A valid identity document or preferably a passport and a visa, if requested by the country you are going to visit: in this regard you can contact the competent diplomatic or consular officer in your country or your travel agent, or even better, the embassy and the consulate of the country where you will land.
We remind you that a passport is required if you fly across the border because only a few countries accept a valid identity card when travelling abroad and there are some that do not accept it as proof of identity nor do they accept the electronic version!
We also suggest you check that your passport has not expired and for how long it must be valid from the moment of travel: the period generally varies from three to six months.
Remember that it is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid identity document and any additional requirements or documents required by customs and immigration authorities.
Penalties, sanctions, expenses or costs incurred due to the lack of any such requirements or valid documents shall be charged to the passenger. If the documents exhibited are not valid or if the name indicated on the ticket does not correspond to that on the identity document, Albastar may deny boarding and you will not be entitled to any refund.
Are you travelling with a minor?
Before buying a ticket, we suggest you check that the minor traveller has the documents and requisites needed, by checking:
- on the State Police/Local Authorities’ website
- with the consulate or embassy of the country you intend to visit
Any expenses or fines arising from any irregularities with the document you present at the Albastar check-in will be borne by the parent or guardian.
Remember that if the requirements are not met, Albastar may deny boarding and you will not be entitled to any refund.
