Albastar obtains the IOSA Certification
It’s a special day for Albastar today! We have received our IOSA (International operational safety audit) certification, which we obtained further to registering with IOSA on 22 May 2019. IOSA certification is the global reference standard designed to assess airline management systems and operational control that is awarded by IATA (International Air Transport Association).
Albastar successfully underwent checks, ascertaining that the airline meets international safety requirements. All operational areas, including flight operations, ground handling, safety management and maintenance, were involved in the checks.
To mark the occasion, we interviewed Alejandro Sahuquillo, Quality & Compliance Monitoring Manager at Albastar and asked him some questions:
Alejandro, what is IOSA certification and what does it certify?
IOSA is an internationally recognised evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. This system is promoted, organised and governed by IATA (International Air Transport Association).
What does travelling with an IOSA certified company represent for passengers?
To obtain IOSA certification, airlines must comply with quality and safety criteria and standards, and for this reason, when travelling with an IOSA certified air carrier, passengers are therefore guaranteed a very high level of quality and safety.
What does IOSA certification represent for Albastar?
Albastar’s IOSA accreditation attests to the company’s commitment to implement and comply with a strict operational safety policy and demonstrates that it is able to compete worldwide with major airlines
What did Albastar do to obtain this certification?
To obtain this certification, Albastar assigned a multidisciplinary team coordinated by the Quality department to the project for 18 months.
